The twins have finally arrived! After many years of wishing and hoping to become an aunt, I have been blessed with a little niece and a little nephew. My oldest brother Blaine and his sweet wife Jenny are the proud parents of little Baby Girl Webb and little Baby Boy Webb (there hasn’t been any official decisions on the names just yet.)
The babies were born a little after 9pm on Sunday June 22. The little girl was born first shortly followed by her brother. Baby Girl Webb was 5lbs. 6oz and 19 inches long. Baby Boy Webb was 5lbs. 4oz and 18 inches long. Babies are doing well, Jenny’s doing well, and Blaine was very busy running between all three of his family members.
I took several pictures but I left my camera with Blaine, because he had already filled the memory card on his camera. As soon as I get access to my camera, I’ll make sure to post some of the pictures. And let me warn you now, there are some super cute pictures!!!
Early this morning, Josh and I were awaken by the sound of laughter over the baby monitor. I though I should get up and see what was going on. I walked into Brooklynn’s room, and found her in the dark, jumping on her bed and laughing. There was a part of me that was a little irritated because she had woken me up, but the other part of me just couldn’t help but be grateful for this special, little, joyous spirit that we have been blessed with. I have no idea what caused her to be so happy that she felt like waking up and jumping on her bed, but I am glad she did, because I will always remember that sweet little picture in my head.
Back in the 9th grade I was lucky enough to be part of a large group of amazing friends. We spent so much time together either hanging out in the band room after school until Mrs Flygare finally kicked us out, or getting together on Saturday nights to watch Mr. Bean. Throughout high school we all stayed good friends, but unfortunately many of us lost contact after graduation.
Well after many years, we finally were able to get together again. Unfortunately not everyone was able to make it, but it was so much fun to see everyone that could come and to hear about what’s going on in their lives. Hopefully our next reunion will have everyone there.
A while back we ordered a box of diapers online. When the box arrived, we left it on the kitchen floor for a while, and Brooklynn immediately fell in love. She’s been using the box as a bench, a stage, and most recently, a table. Each day she adds something new to her collection on the box, everything from some toys, to the bottles of Gatorade she grabbed when we left the pantry door open. She’s had so much fun with the box that we haven’t been able to take it away from her to get to the diapers inside. (Don’t worry, she hasn’t run out of diapers yet – that bum is still covered.)
Apparently, she’s been paying attention at dinner time when we say our prayer before eating. She’s now started to sit down at her “table” and say a short blessing before grabbing anything off of the table. We got the video camera out, and were able to catch her in the act:
Isn’t that great?! Looks like we’ve finally set a good example for our kid! (I was starting to have doubts about being able to do that.)
Brooklynn is at the age where she is constantly learning new things. Her newest achievement is saying “Zo”. OK, so it’s not a real word, but we know what she really means to say is Zoey. It is really hilarious watching her chase the cat around the house yelling “Zo, Zo, Woof, Woof”. According to Brook, every animal says “Woof, Woof”.
