Baking Cookies

Last week I got a craving for pumpkin cookies. Normally I only make them in the fall to stay true to the season, but when you are pregnant the rules no longer exist!

I was surprised at how much help Brooke actually was. She wore her little apron (which is a huge accomplishment, because for those that don’t know, Brooke has always cried hysterically whenever we have tried putting a bib or apron on her). She loved mixing the ingredients, but I think her favorite part was eating them!! Yum, yum!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of her.

I love this picture. Brooklynn is our little face puller and its fun as she gets older and gets a little more creative at pulling faces. You just never know what this child is going to do!

Grandma’s Birthday

Last week my family got together to celebrate my mom’s birthday.

I love my mom. She has always been one of my best friends. She was always the mom growing up that my friends talked to when they were too scared to talk to their own parents. She has a gift of making you laugh when ever you are down and is well known by family and friends for her creativity with poems and silly songs. She is a great person and I love spending time with her. I was so excited when I found out Brooke was going to be girl, because I have always wanted a daughter that I could share that same mother-daughter relationship with.

We had a lot of fun hanging out, BBQing and then of course all the little ones (and some of the big ones) played in the hot tub! This was the first time Brooklynn really played with her cousins, which was so fun. They played with toys, splashed in the hot tub, and Brooke would crawl behind the twins chasing them. There were lots of little laughing voices and fun moments. It is so fun to see them becoming good friends.

Yes, you smarties, you figured it out! We are PREGNANT, and very excited for little number 2 to be joining our family this November. This ultrasound was taken last week. Baby is looking good so far with a strong heartbeat of 158 beats per minute. It will still be awhile before we know the sex of the baby. Josh and I both agree a boy would be fun, but I also really want Brooke to have a sister and a girl would be cheaper for us at this point, since we already would have everything we’ll need. So we will be happy with whatever we get!

This picture was taken the day I told Josh and Brooke the news. I don’t think Brooke really understood, but I think the picture would be the same if she did understand. Brooke is not a big fan of babies right now, but we are working on it. I am sure if she was getting a big sister or brother she would be ecstatic!

Oh, and just in case you don’t get the title of this post, just watch the video below.

This movie requires Flash Player 9

You figure it out!

No Broken Bones, At Least Not Yet!

Yes, yes that is correct, Josh successfully finished his first season of Hockey. I was only able to make it to two of his games, which was probably enough since I spend half of the game debating which hospital I am taking him to if he breaks his leg (I seriously don’t worry that much, but I must admit the thought has crossed my mind each time I watched a game). Luckily I missed the game when one of the players actually did get seriously hurt, and the few times Josh crashed while I was there, I was too busy chasing a two year old to even notice.

I really do enjoy watching him, and am impressed at how good he really is!

“Big Girl” Bed

About two weeks ago, we officially moved Brooke to a “big girl” bed (really just a mattress on the floor). We bought her princess sheets and made a big deal that only big girls get to sleep in a bed like this. She absolutely loves it, and has to show it to everyone that comes to our house.

Unfortunately, she is not so good at staying in her bed while she is asleep. We always seem to find her in the morning half way under the chair, or she is completely on the other side of the room. I have only found her once still in her bed the next morning. But every night we ask her if she wants to sleep in her crib or her “big girl” bed, and she always chooses the “big girl” bed!

I can’t believe how big my little girl is getting!

Cow says ……..

Mom – “Brooke, what does a cow say?”

Brooke – “Booooooooo!”

Mom – “Do cows say Moo?”

Brooke – “No, Boo!”
