Josh and I finally joined every other parent in America and bought Brooklynn a Cozy Coupe. It was just in time too, because Brooklynn has started to gain a reputation as what I call “The Cozy Coupe Bandit.”
Whenever we go for walks around the neighborhood, Brooklynn would search all the neighbors yards for a car. As soon as she spotted one she was gone. Whenever we were hanging out with friends or at neighborhood parties, she would find an empty Cozy Coupe and park her little bum in there until Josh or I pulled her out, usually kicking and screaming. If there were no empty cars, you would see her lurking close by an unexpecting victim, waiting for them to get out of their car. The second they stepped out of the car to grab another toy, or put something in the trunk, Brooke was already in the front seat. This resulted in the other children crying, because Brooke stole their car, and either Josh or I prying Brooke from the car, while she screamed “No, no, my car.”

So I have been searching Craig’s List, and yard sales all summer long. You would think with so many Cozy Coupe’s out there, someone would be trying to sell theirs, but no such luck! So finally Josh and I gave in and took her to Toys R Us to pick one out.
At the store we kept telling her she was getting a new car, one that was her very own. We would ask her which car she wanted and she would just point to all the cars and say “Yes, yes!” Not realizing that toddlers don’t understand that toys come in boxes and you really don’t buy the displays, she was devistated when we put a huge box in the cart instead of the car.
When we got home we put her to bed and Josh stayed up way too late putting it together so Brooke could have it first thing in the morning.
She has only had it for one day, but has spent the majority of the day in the car. It hasn’t left the house yet, but it has been on a tour of every room on our main floor, except the bathrooms, she tried to take it in there, but that’s where I drew the line! She has also had her own version of a drive-in. She parked the car in front of the TV, while she sat in the car and watched her movie.
Oh yes, and I forgot to mention, because Josh ended up picking out the car, he insisted on getting her “The Fire and Rescue” edition. So now I get to listen to a little siren go off every 5 minutes, but she loves it and that’s what matters!
